Speech-Language Pathology Services
The Speech-Language Pathology Department of the Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine was established in the 1950’s as a component of the multidisciplinary rehabilitation service model developed by Dr. Howard Rusk. The department is engaged in clinical service, research, and graduate training in a rehabilitation medicine environment. It is internationally recognized for its contributions to the speech-language pathology profession and medical specialty area of rehabilitation medicine.
Rusk’s Speech-Language Pathology/Swallowing Department includes evaluation & treatment for:
- Adult Neurogenic Communication Disorders
- Swallowing Disorders
- Pediatric Feeding/Swallowing Disorders
- Cochlear Implant Rehabilitation
- Voice Disorders
- Outpatient Community Programs
Patients wishing to receive Rusk’s speech-language pathology services must have a physician’s referral.
